Who We Are
Shaping Leaders with Excellence and Ethics
Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) is a premier
B-school established in 1979 inside the Loyola College campus.
It was founded to form leaders who excel with ethics in life
and work and make a difference in society.
LIBA is a Jesuit business school run by the Society of Jesus,
popularly known as the Jesuits, whose contribution to education
dates back to 1540. LIBA is among the Jesuit higher education
institutions in India, alongside institutions such as St.
Xavier's College, Mumbai; St. Xavier's College, Kolkata;
St. Joseph's University, Bengaluru; XLRI, Jamshedpur; and
XIM University, Bhubaneswar.
At LIBA, excellence — or Magis — is rooted in
ethics and expressed through competence. We encourage students
to turn their aspirations into purposeful action, viewing
business leadership as an opportunity to serve others,
especially marginalised communities, and contribute to the
common good.
Our commitment to Cura Personalis, or care for
the whole person, complements professional development with
integral human growth. In a volatile, uncertain, complex and
ambiguous world, LIBA emphasises innovative learning, effective
use of technology, fluent communication, teamwork and the
ability to turn uncertainty into opportunity.
Our Teaching-Learning-Assessment approach emphasises formative
assessment, core competencies, real-world application and
experiential learning, aligned with Outcome-Based Education.
The aim is to help learners understand ideas deeply and apply
them to solve practical problems.
